Aw, I don't have much to say (we haven't been watching the same things), but your collected monthly summaries are always so pretty!

Thank you! <333

You've been BruceCampbelling! I approve. :) Glad that you enjoyed the end of "The Mentalist". Although I was an anti-shipper all through for those two, I really enjoyed it when they got together! Great final season, I thought. Nice to see visits from Rigsby and Grace, too. And "On The Road"! One of my all time favourite books.

What did you think of the new Mummy film? I've not seen a good review of it yet, but I'm sure some people must like it!

Yes! And quite enjoying it. :D Any recommendations?

Thank you! I really loved when they got together, too, and thought it was a good last season as well. And, aw yes, I wish Rigsby and Grace had been in it all the way through, but I loved that they came back at the end.

Mine, too! <3

I actually thought it was pretty fun. I went into it with really low expectations, which helped, but it was pretty entertaining in a "League of the Extraordinary Gentlemen" sort of way. (:

Well, Bruce Campbell's most popular work is probably the TV series "Burn Notice". It ran for seven seasons, and won a fair few awards. It didn't air here though, so I can't personally vouch for it! It did very well though, and I know that he loved it.

Otherwise, he's really most famous for his B-movies. If you've not seen "Bubba Ho-Tep", then that's probably a good one to start from (Elvis and JFK fight a Mummy). How do you feel about gore (of the silly rather than the scary kind)? The Evil Dead series is where he made his name. There are three of them, although you certainly don't need to watch all three. "Evil Dead II" is a sequel to the first, but also sort of reboots things. I love it to bits (the first film was supposed to be a horror, though I don't know that it is, really. The second is a gory comedy. The third is an action adventure with a lot of comedy in there). Then now there's a TV spin off, "Ash vs Evil Dead", which has just had its second season. Insane fun, and very, very gory. But funny!

I don't mind gore unless it's really over the top gruesome.

I haven't seen any of those so I'll look for them. Thank you! :D

Ohhh, those Supernatural graphics are gorgeous! What site do you use to host your images?

Aren't they? I'm always so impressed by people's skills on tumblr! O_O

The gifs I copy the url straight from tumblr, and the little posters image I upload to dreamwidth scrapbook and copy the url from there. (:

This month has gone by so fast! I hope it was better for you, dear! <3

Where did you watch X Company? it looks quite intriguing to me.

How was the Zookeeper's Wife? How about Everything, Everything?

I feel like I've heard about Kings before. Since you liked it so much, I am intrigued! :)

What did you think of Wonder Woman?

I've been really enjoying Rag'n'Bone Man too! He has such a great voice.
Kathleen: 7[personal profile] emeraldarrows on July 5th, 2017 05:14 am (UTC)
It definitely has! Quite a bit better, thank you, dear! I hope it was a good month for you. *squishes*

I watched it on DVDs borrowed from the library, since I couldn't find it anywhere online. It's a really good show!

I'm afraid I didn't care for The Zookeeper's Wife at all. :/ It felt very miscast, and there was a ton of animal harm/death, most of which was quite graphic, and two rape scenes (one of which was completely unnecessary and historically inaccurate - supposedly the real people didn't have any kind of romantic interest between them at all, and it was done in a really sensationalist manner which made me uncomfortable, and the other of a young girl who I think was supposed to be a minor). :/ Everything, Everything was quite sweet. A simplistic plot and sort of an odd twist near the end, but really endearing. I liked it a lot. (:

Kings is fabulous! Really creative and cool reinterpretation of the elements of the story (it's a modern, fictionally set retelling of the Biblical account of David), and absolutely gorgeous to look at it. I really wish it had gotten more than one season.

I was sort of mixed about Wonder Woman unfortunately. I liked the sweetness of her character (and loved her relationship with Steve) but the plot felt almost exactly like Captain America: the First Avenger to me (the "Howling Commandos" guys, her personality to some extent, the sacrificial death - I'm miffed they killed him off, tbh - and the modern day ending) and it was a bit too female for what I enjoy. :o

I'd never heard of him before but his music was featured in The Originals and I really loved it! Glad you're enjoying it, too. :D

Oh, I'm so glad to hear that! <3 *hugs tightly* Eh, I've not had the best few weeks. I'm really stressed and overwhelmed with summer classes atm. I am working on a final project/group presentation for my bio class that has been somewhat of a debacle for me and my anxiety. I'm looking forward to July being over already! We should really chat sometime! <3 Btw, what is your twitter handle again? I finally got one but I couldn't find yours!

Ah, ok! I'll just have to hope they get it on Netflix eventually!

Ugh, no! I'm so sorry to hear that! That's not what I was expecting at all! I guess I know now to avoid it. :/

Glad you liked that one! :)

That sounds really creative! I'm glad you liked it so much!

Well, I'm glad you liked some of it! I agree about the parallels, but they made me like it more rather than less.

Thank you! <333 Aw, I'm so sorry! *squishes* I hope things get less stressful soon!

I never used it, so I just ended up deleting it. :o I've been sort of simplifying my online activity lately since I've been busier, so I deleted some of my old accounts I wasn't using anymore.

I hope they do, too!

Yeah. :/ I was really disappointed because the real life story sounded so fascinating. :(

Thank you. (:

Thank you! Just one more month to go before I get some vacation time! *wipes brow*

Ah, ok! I get that! Btw, how do you attach tumblr images to your comments?
Kathleen: 10[personal profile] emeraldarrows on July 9th, 2017 03:36 am (UTC)
Aw, well, I hope the month passes quickly for you! *squishes*

Right-hand click on the image and copy the url (or click on the image, open it in a new window, and highlight/copy the url from the top of the page if that's easier) and paste it between the second set of quotation marks in the code beneath. (:

Then just copy that code and paste it into a comment. :D
